Our cross country tour continues after an amazing weeklong run in both NYC and LA in August…thanks to the many people who came to see us during our first theatrical run! With those screenings and LOTS of paperwork, we have officially qualified for Best Documentary Oscar consideration for 2012! We won’t know about nominations or awards for quite some time, but to paraphrase the old quote…”it’s an honor just to be qualified!”

September has brought us two fantastic screenings with our friends at the United Film Festivals…the first was a completely sold out show in San Francisco (and great write-ups in the San Francisco Chronicle AND the SF Examiner!) with one of the best Q and A sessions ever. We’ll be coming back to the Bay Area for MULTIPLE SHOWS, so stay tuned to our upcoming screening page and our Facebook page for more details! And we just returned from a fantastic reception in Chicago at the Music Box Theater, very much a homecoming for us in the midwest (we’re still working on a big Detroit screening, for all our Motown friends and family).

LOTS of big news coming…we’ll be adding much more to this site and the Facebook page in weeks to come, along with big news about the DVD and digital video versions to come!

NAMIWalks, the largest mental health education and fundraising effort in America, brings together thousands of passionate individuals and supporters to celebrate recovery from
mental illness and to help raise funds, combat stigma, and promote awareness.

NAMIWalks NYC, now in its sixth year, benefits the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI-NYC Metro), the largest NAMI affiliate in the nation.
Proceeds from NAMIWalks NYC fund free support, education, and advocacy efforts on behalf of New Yorkers of all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds who are affected
by mental illness.

We’re celebrating the premiere here in Cleveland tonight…just about EVERYONE from the film was in attendance, and the reaction was just amazing from our sold out crowd. Tomorrow is round 2, with a panel including local mental health advocates and us after the screening…stay tuned for more!

Hello from Cleveland…we’re only hours away from our premiere at the Cleveland International Film Festival and we have tickets in hand! Liz, Cheri, Petey and Carlton, who all appear in the film, are here along with many others who appear during the documentary, plus a great crowd of friends and family.
